Wow! What a game you saw last night if you had New York baseball tickets, when CC Sabathia threw a no hitter for the WIN_TEAM!! Congratulations to Sabathia as well as the Yankees for an incredible accomplishment. You never know what you will see at a baseball game and if you were at New Yankee Stadium yesterday you’ll have a story to tell for the rest of your life! Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia (3.02 ERA) got the win, while Luke French (4.57 ERA) took the loss for the Mariners. CC Sabathia went 6 innings for the Yankees, allowed 3 hits, no home runs and no earned runs with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Yankees was Kerry Wood (4.40), and Joba Chamberlain (4.80). The Mariners’s starter Luke French went 5 innings, allowed 5 hits, 2 home runs and 5 earned runs with 5 walks and one strikeout. Chris Seddon (6.28), Brian Sweeney (3.55), and Brandon League (2.84) also pitched for the Mariners. With the win, Sabathia’s record goes to 17-5, while French is at 2-4.
Robinson Cano provided much of the offense for the Yankees with an incredible 6 runs batted in. In addition to the 10 runs, the Yankees scored 10 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Yankees, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. The Mariners didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Mariners got no runs, 6 hits and 3 errors.
